Where to start but at the City I call home. My lunch at Hoof cafe was yummy with one of my fellow foodies. Of course I had to start with the bone marrow, that was a childhood favourite. Hoof's version did not disappoint.
The next course we shared together was our suckling pig eggs benedict. This dish was actually disappointing. I love suckling pig but like it the Chinese way and this was just way too chewy.
Finally, we shared pigs tails and grits. This dish I was scared to try but you only live once. And how wrong I was. Heavenly, I swear I will order this again next time I head to the Hoof.
Pros:
1) awesome bone marrow and pigs tails
2) lots of light and beautiful stainless steel ceiling
3) nice they have a bench outside for people to wait to get in
4) will call your cell to let u know if a table is available
Cons:
1) no reservations
2) no credit cards
3) the disappointing suckling pig
4) crowded and hardly any space between tables
Overall, a yummy excursion to one of Toronto's newest and popular restaurants.
